Mobility is a key element of PHALANX and great care has been taken in selecting a range of rugged mobile devices to ensure suitability for challenging oil and gas environments. PHALANX processes are also designed to make the best use of mobile displays, minimise keyboard input and to lead users logically through each task.
PHALANX uses the Windows Mobile Platform, the de-facto standard for industrial mobile computers. PHALANX Mobile devices support enterprise secure wireless protocols 802.11 a/b/g. Handheld devices also support GPRS to extend the connection reach even further. In remote environments where connection is not possible, PHALANX handheld units will work in disconnected mode to process and store information until connection can be re-established.
