Spartan Solutions ground breaking Phalanx product is launching on Google Android and iPhone
Specialist barcode and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) solutions company, Spartan Solutions Ltd., is launching their Phalanx equipment and logistics app on both Google Android and Apple devices.
Jim Green, Spartan's Managing Director, commented "The recent generation of smart phones, and in particular the RFID enabled Google Nexus S, provides a lower cost hardware platform for our customers. The explosive growth and computing power of smart phone technology, combined with the growing interest in RFID, allows Spartan users to run Phalanx in conjunction with other business apps. It is also worth noting that a modern smart phone is typically less than a third of the cost of an equivalent industrial device.”
David Williams, Spartan's Technical Director, added "We are investing in HTML5.0 and JavaScript technology to extend Phalanx on to the Android, iPhone, iPad and Blackberry platforms. There are still good operational reasons to run Phalanx on industrial mobile computers running Windows Mobile, but we believe our current and future customers will appreciate the flexibility of running their mission critical logistics and equipment management processes on a wider range of devices."
