Overcoming the challenge of consistently reading tags on large steel containers from heavy duty forklifts can be addressed by using either Active or UHF RFID tags, depending on the specific requirement.
UHF tags currently support read ranges up to 7 metres whereas Active tags can extend the read range up to 100 metres.
Active tags can even identify one out of a group of containers, even if the container is out of sight within a cubed stack of others.
Using an industrial ‘peel and stick’ glue, the tags can be attached and programmed in less than two minutes.
